Jørn Henriksen

Jørn Henriksen is the Director of Expedition Operations for Viking. Raised in Tromsø, Norway, he has spent most of his life in the Arctic and brings 25 years of expedition management experience to Viking. He has worked as head expedition leader in Svalbard, Antarctica and other polar regions, and has led multiple ski and hiking expeditions in the High Arctic. During his 11 years at Hurtigruten, Henriksen was an operations manager and then head of polar operations. He is the founding partner and former chairman of the Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators and is also a former executive committee member of the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators. Henriksen’s education includes time in the Royal Norwegian Air Force as well as an outdoor leadership and political science degrees from UiT The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø.

Aaron Lawton

Aaron Lawton has been involved in the polar expedition cruise industry since 1998 and has served as an expedition leader or kayak guide on nearly 200 voyages to these remote environments. Over more than two decades in operations management, he has contributed to the development of many of the best practices that make up the core of polar expedition cruise activities. Aaron and his wife, Cathy, once spent two weeks kayaking the length of the Antarctic Peninsula.  
 
A fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographic Society, he has also been awarded the Erebus Medal for his involvement in the 2014 Victoria Strait Expedition that discovered the HMS Erebus, lost in the Canadian Arctic since Sir John Franklin's ill-fated 1845 expedition in search of the Northwest Passage. 

Line Overgaard

Line Overgaard joined Viking's Expedition Team in July 2023 and currently serves as our onboarding & training coordinator. Her primary responsibilities include designing and implementing our expedition team training program, based on Polar Tourism Guide Association standards. She also organizes training for staff operating in polar bear areas and establishes procedures to ensure the quality of our onboard enrichment program for Viking guests. 
 
Fluent in both English and Norwegian, with basic proficiency in German, Ms. Overgaard has been working in the cruise industry since 2003. Her educational and training background includes Arctic Nature Guide training (Svalbard). She studied intercultural communication with a focus on Africa at Norsk Lærerakademi, as well as administration and economics at Tiller Videregående skole.
