Freddie Strickland
Growing up in London, Freddie Strickland later moved to the Cornish coast, where he studied and worked for eight years, earning a degree in fine art from Falmouth University. His passion for horticulture led him to further study garden and landscape design at the Eden Project in Cornwall.
Since that time, Mr. Strickland has become an award-winning garden and landscape designer based in Bristol, working nationally. His designs emphasize plants, sustainability and the innovative use of natural materials. In 2021, he was crowned RHS Young Designer of the Year following his Gold medal-winning show garden at Tatton Park. His environmentally conscious garden, "On Tropic," highlighted a changing palette of plants in a warming climate and also won Best Construction in Show.
Inspired by the gardens of the South West, Mr. Strickland's latest designs reflect these influences and a strong focus on sustainability. He aims to help people maximize their outdoor spaces, creating places of escape and joy. Notably, he was recognized in Country and Town House magazine as one of the 20 Finest Garden Designers 2023 and included in Pro Landscaper’s 30 Under 30 competition.
