Luis Zhang joined the world of wine in 2005 when he started working for WIV Pieroth, Germany’s largest wine company. From 2006 to 2010, he served as an award-winning sales director and training director for the company’s branch in China—Pieroth Wine Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. During this time, Mr. Zhang served as apprentice to Master Jin Fangcai, the founder of Daughter Red Huangjiu, the most famous yellow wine brand in China. He also studied biodynamic farming and organic vinification.  
 
To pursue his dream of owning his own wine company, Mr. Zhang left WIV Pieroth in 2010 and founded Aoron Wine Cellar in Shanghai. Based on his first brand’s success, he launched the Shanghai Shanying Dao Wine Co., Ltd., which is committed to the heritage and revitalization of Chinese huangjiu culture. 
 
Mr. Zhang holds a bachelor’s degree from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, and is considered a technical expert in China's brewing industry by the China Liquor Industry Association. He has also earned his first-level sommelier/senior technician certification from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People's Republic of China. He is a proponent of the ideas of Austrian social philosopher Rudolf Steiner and Japanese organic agronomist and natural philosopher Masanobu Fukuoka.
