As an independent consultant on international development, Courtenay Cabot Venton advises donors and NGOs on the economics of development. Working with agencies such as the United Nations and the World Bank, as well as charities such as Oxfam and Plan International, her role involves analyzing the effectiveness of projects designed to reduce poverty.  

Courtenay is a trained economist, with a BA in economics from Northwestern University and a master’s degree in environmental change and management from Oxford University’s Environmental Change Institute. She was named by Town & Country magazine as one of their Top 50 Philanthropists of 2017.
